Support Groups

We've drastically discounted our author autographed books .

They explain our philosophy that the solution to our cluttering is based on psychology combined with organizing principles.

Start A Clutterless Support Meeting!

Clutterless Recovery Groups support meetings emphasize overcoming clutter by clutter support meetings, helping each other as clutter buddies. We are not alone. Through support meetings, using a self-help format, we address issues like cluttering, ADD, AD/HD, attention deficit disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder and OCD or obsessive compulsive disorder components of cluttering behavior. In Clutterless support meetings, we do not use derogatory terms like, packrat, packrats, messies, slobs, clutterbugs. Clutterless Recovery Groups is a self-help recovery organization that believes changing the cluttering psychology is about changing cluttering behaviors.

If you're ready to learn how to start a meeting by looking at the clutter support group meeting kit, see what it's all about click here.

If you're still undecided, read on.

I was waiting for someone to do something,
then I realized that I was someone.

We get dozens of emails a week from people who say they really need a support meeting in their area, and "as soon as someone starts one, please, please let me know." "I just don't have the time to do it myself." Take a look at the "Maps" button on the left to see how many people are just waiting for someone like you to take responsibility and start one. There are more than 900 subscribers to our newsletter across the country who would attend meetings, if only they had a place. (See the "Subscribers" menu under "Maps."

If not you, then who?

Helping others first of all helps yourself. When others have started meetings, they tell me the wonderful changes it made in their lives. We can either squat in our clutter and wish we could get better or that someone else would start a meeting, or do something about it. The meeting kit has all you need to know about starting a meeting, from how to find a location to hold it, how to attract attendess and how to run a meeting. Plus, I am available for unlimited phone support at 409-744-1289.

I understand your fears.

You don't have to do this alone. Chances are, others in your area are interested. If you take the first step, they will help. I will email everyone in your area. Then you can get together and work out the details.

If you go to the buddy page, you'll find others who would like to attend, but just don't feel like they can start one. If two or three of you get together, it will be easy and you'll wonder what ever held you back. We have a mailing list of more than 800 people around the country and world. We will email everyone in your area to help you get started.

Friends, it will take about one to three hours get a meeting going. Our kit  walks you through the process. You waste three hours on ineffectual decluttering efforts.  After that, all you have to do is show up for the meeting. Please, help yourself and DO SOMETHING..

Live in the Now, not the Maybe. The top three excuses to do nothing.

Maybe after I get completely decluttered. Maybe when I have more time. Maybe when my kids are grown. Maybe ....

I know how it is. I went through the very same fears. Changing your life takes more than reading books -- even mine. It's a lot easier to change when we have a support group to lean on. We have tried doing it alone all these years and where are we? I will personally help you get started if there is a workshop in your city.

Why should we start one? To help ourselves. That is first and foremost. Those who have started them find their own decluttering efforts improving. There is just something about being with other people with the same issues that helps us get going. If we keep dong the same things, we will get the same results. If nothing happens, nothing happens. Then there is the satisfaction of helping other people. Instead of being self-absorbed and wallowing in our clutter, we are passing on a gift that can change peoples' lives.

Not qualified -- if you are a clutter who wants to change, you are qualified. Period. I have seen struggling alcoholics with nothing more than a desire to get better start meetings and watched them improve their lives.

Time -- it will take about three hours total to get one going, maybe less. If you attend a church, ask the minister if you can meet there. That's the hardest part. Otherwise, it might take that whole three hours for phone calls to find a meeting location, filling in the blanks on the press releases included in the media kit, faxing or putting them in the envelopes etc. That's about it in getting it started. Once you are located somewhere, it takes about 10 minutes a month to send the PSA's. Often people go out for coffee and companionship afterwards, so you get a lot of new friends and you get better. So how big an investment is it, really?

Over-commitment -- yes, this is a clutter's trait. But it is also an excuse for inaction. We say we have too many projects to start a new one. We do what is important to us. Don't you think changing a lifetime of unhappiness due to our cluttering is a valuable project?

Shame or shyness -- we might be shy, or shamed by our cluttering. What's to be ashamed of? You'll be meeting people just like you who, too, thought they were alone. Meetings help us get uncluttered and stay uncluttered.

The kit will show you how.  Our complete meeting kit is available online. It will guide you through all the steps.

How do I get a kit? The kit is available to print from your own computer in PDF format. We charge for the kit, because experience has proven that people  are more likely to actually DO something if they are financially invested. We ask that you value our time and effort in creating it, and your time in starting one. If you are really serious about starting a meeting and honestly don't feel you can afford to buy a kit, call us and we can work something out.

Please make the commitment and get your own recovery and that of those you will help on the way.
